I recently discovered this great cover to "The Knife", and although I really love the original I must admit that I have a fetish to cover versions + Jose Gonzalez is a really gifted artist!

Eric Clapton - Rambling on My Mind
I still can't believe I was actually there! I'm a big Clapton fan, and I went to see him play with Steve Winwood at Madison Square Garden (NY) on February 2008! WOW!

The The - Slow Emotion Replay
"Every body knows what's going wrong with the world
But I don't even know what's going on in myself.
Lord, I've been here for so long
I can feel it coming down on me
I'm just a slow emotion replay of somebody I used to be."

A Collection a Day 2010
Found this AMAZING blog by Lisa Congdon, who decided to document in one year the various collections in her life, photographed or painted, some real and some imagined . Each day (!) she puts in the blog a picture of a different collection, such as clothespins, brushes or vintage packaging labels.
Most of us has, or used to have a collection of some sort, like books, family pictures, CDs, scarves, and we don't really realize that we live in our own tiny museum of life.
This blog demonstrates the museological view of our lives, and It is so cool :)

Massive Attack - Silent Spring
I fell inlove with this song the first time i heard it, and I tried to understand in what language the lyrics are. The singer in this song is the amazing Elizabeth Fraser, from the Cocteau Twins, who has a very unique style of singing. She sings in a melismatic style , which is the singing of a single syllable of text while moving between several different notes in succession (thanks Wikipedia :)), and that makes the words sound different. This song is a collaboration with Massive Attack and is featured in their album "Collected" (2006). I love this quirky style and the lyrics as well!
(There is no official vidoe to this song and this is the only thing I could find...)
Massive Attack feat Elizabeth Fraser - Silent Spring
Boy brought power
To b-obey
Hear me call
To b-obey
To b-obey
I seek him clothe
Come shush-hush
A shrewd bow to b-obey (we are but bound to b-obey)
I seek him clothe (we are but bound to b-obey)
Come shush-hush (we are but bound to b-obey)
A shrewd bow to b-obey (we are but bound to b-obey)
I seek him clothe (we are but bound to b-obey)
Come shush-hush

Girl Talk
While on vacation with friends in the past weekend, I have discovered "Girl Talk", a very cool solo project of mashups and digital sampling by Gregg Michael Gillis. This underground project consists of music samples of all genres, from 80' pop music to classic rock or hip hop, creating fun fun music. The next two videos are from his latest album "Feed the Animals" (2008). I love mashups, and I think this project is simply brilliant!
See if you can spot the different tunes :)

Depeche Mode
This is from a Depeche Mode concert that my flatmate and I went to in Rotterdam last November.
I realy like the next song, and whenever I hear it and listen to the words I understand that "All I ever wanted, All I ever needed, Is here in my arms"...
